I, Selam Teshome, the founder of ACAR, am driven by a personal mission to empower African children and unlock their literary potential, particularly those facing the challenges of poverty.

My own journey as a student in Kisumu, where a mere hour of weekly reading in the library ignited my passion for literature and ignited my thirst for knowledge, served as the catalyst for establishing a non-profit foundation that could extend similar opportunities to other children.

My goal is to harness the incredible potential of reading and writing to nurture the next generation of accomplished authors and drive positive change throughout Africa.
